Trench Watch

Although elements of this watch remain mysterious, we do know that it is one of the world’s earliest wristwatches. A look into markings on and in the watch reveal aspects of its origin. Hallmarks on Caseback: 925 = sterling silver, n = London 1908, GS = George Stockwell maker’s mark (registered 1907); the S under the serial number was probably the sign of case maker Stila of La Chaux -de-Fonds.
