Certina
Interesting info about this watch: Even though the Swiss luxury watch company, Certina, is well known and regarded internationally as a leader in watch technology, in the USA it is not a household name. This is a shame because Certina has a long history, starting out in 1888 as the first manufacturer of watch movements and parts for the industry and then moving into the watch manufacturing business. In the late 1930s they were producing mostly ladies wristwatches since men still preferred pocket watches. In 1936 Certina was the first to produce digital watches using a spring loaded movement of rotating disks with numbers inscribed on them instead of hands. In 1971 they were also the first watch to display human biorhythms. This is a particularly handsome 1960s Certina, available now.
